Overview

As dual-gigabit network deployment accelerates and services such as 8K video, whole-home WiFi 6/7 (FTTR), cloud desktop, VR/AR, and smart home applications grow rapidly, traditional GPON/EPON networks can no longer meet user demand for ultra-high bandwidth and very low latency.

Fixed broadband is moving broadly to 10G PON (XG-PON / XGS-PON) and accelerating toward next-generation 50G PON. In optical distribution networks (ODN), splitter loss is the key bottleneck limiting transmission reach and household coverage.

This solution uses the full Goilips XG-PON / XGS-PON and 50G-PON OLT & ONU optical module portfolio with Class C+ high optical power budget technology. It enables smooth upgrades from gigabit access to 10-gigabit experience without changing existing ODN fiber infrastructure.

Deployment & Architecture

Between central-office OLT equipment and customer-premises ONU/ONT devices, the network uses a fully passive ODN. Goilips high-power Class C+ OLT modules support large split ratios up to 1:64 / 1:128.
