Tbps-scale data disaster recovery and high-capacity interconnect between data centers within the same metro area or across cities.
For metro and inter-city data center interconnect (DCI), traditional WDM transport architectures often rely on standalone OTN equipment and complex wavelength systems. This consumes rack space, increases power draw, and lengthens deployment and operations cycles.
This solution uses Goilips 400G QSFP-DD ZR/ZR+ coherent optical modules with an IP over DWDM (IPoDWDM) architecture, moving coherent transmission directly into core switch or router ports. By removing traditional OTN physical-layer equipment, it builds a low-latency, simplified, ultra-high-capacity, and cost-efficient DCI backbone.
Supports real-time distributed database synchronization and hot backup for finance, e-commerce, and large enterprises with high reliability requirements.
Provides Tbps-scale pipes between hyperscale edge PoP sites and regional core data centers.
Enables fast migration of AI training datasets and model parameters across data centers and compute clusters.
The IPoDWDM direct-connect architecture plugs coherent modules directly into QSFP-DD ports on core switches or routers. DWDM wavelengths are carried through MUX/DEMUX devices and, where needed, EDFA amplifiers into the fiber line.
Core Deployment:Use Goilips 400G QSFP-DD ZR with DP-16QAM modulation over switch -> MUX/DEMUX -> dark fiber -> MUX/DEMUX -> switch.
Advantage:Supports direct point-to-point DCI without optical amplifiers, reducing system complexity and deployment time.
Core Deployment:Use Goilips 400G QSFP-DD ZR+ with DP-16QAM or DP-8QAM, plus MUX/DEMUX and EDFA amplification where required.
Advantage:Extends backbone reach while integrating with existing DWDM physical networks and ROADM systems.
Core Deployment:Use Goilips 400G QSFP-DD ZR+ with tunable 100G/200G/300G/400G rates depending on fiber quality and reach.
Advantage:On poor-quality or extra-long fiber paths, lower rates can be selected to gain additional transmission distance.
Eliminates traditional OTN transport equipment by plugging coherent modules directly into switches, saving up to 50%+ in CAPEX and shortening launch cycles.
Standard QSFP-DD packaging keeps power within 15W - 19.5W, fitting mainstream high-density switch panels while reducing space and cooling costs.
Advanced FEC and ZR+ High-Tx Power support (-1dBm to 0dBm) allow the modules to pass through existing ROADM/DWDM optical-layer systems.
Supports C-band 100GHz/50GHz tunability plus OAM and CMIS 5.0, enabling unified in-band monitoring from switch operating systems.
As traffic grows, customers can add Goilips 400G ZR/ZR+ modules and wavelengths on the MUX without redesigning the physical transport network.
